En Özel Dizilerden Biri: Bojack Horseman
Bojack Horseman her ne kadar kurgusu hayvanlar üzerinden dönse de belki de en çok insanın kalbine dokunan dizilerden biri olabilir. Bağımlılığın, ruhsal bozuklukların ve ölümün gerçekten tüm çıplaklığıyla anlatıldığı bir dizi. Her karakter sizin bir arkadaşınız gibi. Hiçbir karakter için tamamen iyi veya kötü diyemiyoruz. Hepsi bizim bir kişiliğimiz gibi. her karakterden kendimize bir şeyler bulabiliyoruz. Bu dizi çok ama çok özel, peki neden özel?

Diane Nguyen
Diane dizide belki de seyircinin en çok kendisini gördüğü karakter olabilir. Dizi boyunca Diane'in en dibe batmış halinden en mutlu haline dair her halini görüyoruz ve bu da bizi Diane'le kendimizi daha çok benzetmemize neden oluyor. Kendisi de Bojack gibi insanların kalbini kırıyor ve bazı yerlerde umursamaz davranıyor ama Diane'nin diziyi çok etkileyen bir davranışı var, Diane gerçekten iyi bir arkadaş. Yeni işlere giriyor, yeni yazılar yazıyor ve yeni insanlarla tanışıyor. Bazılarında başarılı oluyor ve bazılarında olamıyor ama ne yaparsa yapsın, Bojack'den ne kadar nefret ederse etsin veya ne kadar severse sevsin Bojcak'in iyileşmesi için çabalıyor her ne kadar başarılı olamasa da deniyor. Kendi içinde de çok fazla felsefi düşüncelere dalıyor ve hatta geçirdiği bir bunalım sonucu ana vatanı Vietnam'a kadar gidiyor. O da bir şekilde bu dizide herkesin yediği gibi hayattın sillesini bir şekilde yiyor.

Princess Carolyn
Kısaca PC, gerçekten çok hırslı ve istediğini elde etmek için her şeyi yapabilecek bir kadın. Gerçekten dendiği gibi resmen hep 4 ayağının üzerine düşüyor. İnsanları memnun etmek için nerdeyse her şeyi yapıyor ve değer verdiği kişilere karşı sadık kalabiliyor. Mesela Bojack ona karşı her ne kadar kötü davranırsa davransın her zaman onu beladan kurtarıyor ve ne yazık ki genelde Bojcak'den bir teşekkür bile alamıyor. Başarılı bir iş kadını olmasına rağmen ilişkilerinde o kadar da başarılı olamıyor (tabi bunda işinin etkileri de çok büyük). Her şeye rağmen en doğru kararları o veriyor ve hayatta da istediğine belki de en çok o ulaşıyor.

Todd Chavez
Çocuk ruhlu ve eğlenceli bir karakter olan Todd belki de dizideki en fazla dışlanan karakter olabilir. Bojack tarafından devamlı bir istismara maruz kalıyor ve hala neşesini kaybetmiyor. Saftirik karakteri ile gerçekten seyircileri en kötü anlarda bile güldürebilen çok değerli bir karakter. Bazı şeylerin farkına varmasıyla Bojack'e iyi dersler verebilen ve aynı zaman da saçma iş fikirleriyle başarısız olabilen çok yönlü biri Todd. İnsanların işlerine yetişmeye çalışırken bile dizideki en eğlenen karakter olmayı başarıyor.

Mr. Peanutbutter
Yine en az Todd kadar eğlenceye düşkün biri olan Mr. Peanutbutter, başarısız işlere kalkışan ve bir şekilde hep altından kalkabilen biri. Başarısız evlilikler yapıyor (buna Diane ile olan da dahil) ve yine de hala aşka olan inancını kaybetmiyor. Aslında hiçbir şeye karşı inancını kaybetmiyor. Hayatında her ne kadar bir sürü kötü şey olursa olsun hayata olan inancını asla kaybetmiyor ve dizide bunu başarabilen nadir kişilerden biri. İnsanın da aslında bazı yerlerde bu umuda sahip olması gerekiyor, mutlu olmak için.

Beatrice Horseman
Kendisi Bojack'in annesi ve bence dizide en derin hikayesi olan kişilerden biri. Abisinin ölümü, annesinin bu ölümle geçirdiği buhran, babasının Beatrice'in kilosu üzerine yaptığı yorumlar ve zorbalığa maruz kalması sadece çocukluğunda gerçekleşen şeyler olmasına mahsus yetişkinlik hayatında da gerçekten mutlu olmayı başaramamış biri. Yaptığı evlilikte aldatılıyor ve istemediği bir çocuk dünyaya getiriyor. Hayatının son zamanlarında da demans yani bunama hastalığıyla uğraşıyor ve hayatından asla tatmin olmayarak son yolculuğuna uğurlanıyor. Benim şahsen sevdiğim karakterlerden biri Beatrice çünkü hikayesi çok gerçekçi ve yüzümüze bir tokat gibi çarpıyor.

BoJack: Yeah?

Bojack: we're sitting on the back porch, and we're listening to your brother play the piano, and we're eating ice cream. vanilla ice cream.
Beatrice: yes, that's right! oh, it's all so marvelous.
Bojack: can you taste the ice cream, mom?
Beatrice: oh, bojack. ıt's so delicious.

BoJack Horseman : Look, I-I-I wanted to, but I didn't thin...
Herb Kazzaz : You know what it was like for me? I had nobody, everybody left. I knew all those showbiz phonies would turn on me, sure, but you?
BoJack Horseman : It's not my fault you got fired.
Herb Kazzaz : I don't care about the job! I did fine, I had a good life. But what I needed then was a friend, and you abandoned me, and I will never forgive you for that. Now get the fuck out of my house!

BoJack Horseman : Do I remember that? Yeah, vaguely.
Diane Nguyen : You really caught me off guard. I didn't know what to say.
BoJack Horseman : Well, do you? Think I'm a good person? Deep down?
Diane Nguyen : That's the thing. I don't think I believe in "deep down". I kinda think all you are is just the things that you do.

Diane Nguyen : What?
BoJack Horseman : I mean a-a-a-a-a-a-am I just doomed to be the person that I am? Th-The person in that book? I mean i-it's not too late for me, is it? It's not too late? Diane, I need you to tell me it's not too late.
Diane Nguyen : BoJack, I...
BoJack Horseman : I-I-I-I need you to tell me that I'm a good person. I know that I can be selfish and narcissistic and self-destructive, but underneath all that, deep down, I'm a good person, and I need you to tell me that I'm good. Diane? Tell me, please, Diane. Tell me that I'm good.

Bojack hakkında daha yazılacak çok şey var. Bojack Horseman benim hayatımda izlediğim en iyi dizilerden biri olabilir. Depresyonu, bağımlılığı ve daha bir çok şeyi bütün acımasızlığıyla gösteren bir dizidir. Ben bu yapımda her insanın kendinden bir parça bulabileceğini düşünüyorum.
